I have a huge desire to start writing other fandoms into it.
Sherlock Holmes is and eccentric goalkeeper who is all start caliber but considered locker room cancer and keeps getting traded until he runs across a team with blueliner!John and starts rooming with the man. Possibly there is coach!Lestrade.
Shawn Spencer is a 3rd line winger who seems to stay in the league only because his crazed antics make him a fan favorite. He's ridiculously talented when he decides to be but most of the time just can't be arsed. Gus is in the team's PR department and most of his interaction is making sure Shawn doesn't put his foot in his mouth. Lassiter is a crusty old center who hatesShawn everyone but can't say anything because they're on the same team. Henry had his number retired years ago and doesn't think Shawn has measured up.
Harry Dresden is an enforcer with a heart of gold. He starts fights all the time but only with people he *knows* deserved it.
Dexter still leaves a trail of bodies in every city he visits, but he's also got a reputation as one of the best defensive forwards around because he's always six steps ahead. Doakes is on a team in the same conference AND THEIR RIVALRY IS THE STUFF OF LEGENDS.
The Doctor is responsible for a half dozen brilliant scorers over the past few decades. They're the folks who have one great year and then are 'injured' and disappear from the league. He gets too bored to stay for more than that but with each new body he needs to try it out.
[So, yeah when I get into a show, often my mind goes to 'if they all played hockey, what position would they play.' I BLAME THE NHL PLAYOFFS.]

2/5/11 00:59 (UTC)Shawn set up a website, but it's actually his own fansite that he runs under an alias. It has sparkles and flames on it and looks like it was made by a thirteen year old girl. It's mainly devoted to not top ten type plays and Shawn being ridiculous. He wants to know why Sherlock's gets more traffics because his has *sparkles*. Strangely though Shawn is averaging more than a point a game against Sherlock's teams because absolutely nothing he does is predictable. (I think Shawn's on the LA Kings.)
Dresden and John don't run across each other much but when they do their conversation is basically, Hey, man, how's life? Good? You want to fight after the face off. (whistle, then fight). We'll grab a beer soon, all right? Sherlock is very complimentary about John for about a week before he realizes that others are going to realize how wonderful John is and then he spend a week posting about John's weak spots until John notices and makes him take it down. Lestrade, who gets a contract at the end of the season, knows better than to ever let John leave.
Dexter lucked out because LA and FLA only play like once a season. He thinks Shawn's an idiot. Shawn spends most of the game trying unsuccessfully to get a rise out of him. Dexter goes back home and despairs for humanity.
OMG MARCONE AND MYCROFT RUN THE LEAGUE. THEY HAD A FALLING OUT IN '04 AND CAUSED THE NHL LOCKOUT. SHERLOCK FOUND OUT AND FORCED THEM TO RECONCILE. SHERLOCK WAS 14 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME BUT LOOKED LIKE HE WAS ABOUT 10 AND MARCONE COULDN'T BEAR TO DISAPPOINT A CHILD.
