hockey!Au blather
23/10/11 22:57MY TEAM HAS HAD AN AWESOME START TO THE YEAR. AND I FINALLY WAS IN A PLACE WITH CABLE LAST WEEKEND AND GOT TO WATCH A BUNCH.
So of course, now I'm thinking about the hockey AU:
MERLIN: Morgana is on the woman's olympic team. She is much much better than Arthur. It's like Reggie and Sherryl Miller only for hockey instead of basketball. Gwaine starts brawls. Lancelot is a PR darling. Arthur's in the minor leagues. Like waaay down there. ECHL maybe. He doesn't start rising until Merlin ends up with him on the blue line. ONLY I HAVE MAJOR ISSUES VISUALIZING MERLIN PLAYING HOCKEY. BECAUSE HE WOULD CHEAT SO VERY MUCH WITH THE MAGIC.
also, Kilgharrah coachs. HE IS STILL ACTUALLY A DRAGON, BUT FOR SOME REASON NO ONE NOTICES. EXCEPT FOR DRESDEN (or maybe the Winchesters) WHO SLAY HIM MIDSEASON.
XMFC: God I don't want to think of this one too hard because Charles would have to take a massive hit from former teammate and bff, Erik and it would be something like this. And there would be, you know, complications. And I guess Charles would wind up being a kick ass coach BUT THE HOCKEY VERSE IS A HAPPY PLACE AND I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN DEAL WITH THIS LEVEL OF ANGST. xmen_firstkink but I don't think I could request that without everyone identifying me.
LIFE ON MARS: There is totally still time travel. AND SAM TRIES TO CIVILIZE THE LEAGUE BY SUGGESTING PEOPLE WEAR HELMETS AND STUFF LIKE THAT. EVERYONE THINKS HE'S COMPLETELY INSANE. ALSO, A WUSS. Gene maybe beats him up a lot. Even in practices.
SCRUBS: I cannot for the life of me imagine J.D. playing hockey. Turk, maybe. Dr. Cox, yes. The Janitor, so much. But I like J.D. best and he'd mainly just be a massive fanboy. I dunno maybe Elliot is a play by play person? And is famous for the rapid-fire calls near the end.
(man, this is hard for my sitcoms. I can't picture ANYONE on HIMYM or COMMUNITY playing hockey. Abed would definitely be an analyst though. Maybe he runs one of those hockey-night in Canada type programs with Troy. AND THEY SING THEIR OWN OPENING.)
I should probably note that I'm going to do nano this year and this is kind of an info dump for my own sake. The Merlin one will probably happen at some point. And then LOM one. *pokes at the others*
