First of all: a character death warning would have been nice. Without it Dean's death came like a punch to the gut and not in a good way. There are days when I really can't deal with that (and today is almost one of those days). So not happy about that. Not at all.

But besides that the story was great. Very sad, in many, many ways. I liked Alec's quiet acceptance of what Sam's life is all about. My heart nearly broke for him when it became clear what happened to Asha and that he's now stuck in the some circle like the Winchesters (though, I thought they had killed they demon??).

Definitely one of the better quality da/spn fics. But please, next time put a character death warning in the header.
